The statue of Narasimha, Vishnu’s man-lion incarnation, on a lotus
base, symbolizes divine protection and victory over evil.
The statue depicts Narasimha, Vishnu’s man-lion incarnation, seated on a lotus base. With one leg pendant and the other drawn
up, Narasimha has four arms: one around his consort, and the others holding a sudarshana chakra (discus), shankha (conch),
and a closed lotus. He features a conical crown, wild eyes, prominent fangs, and a circular beard. The conch symbolizes "Om,"
and the discus represents the sun. Both figures are adorned with ornate jewelry and striped dhotis. The back of the statue
mirrors the front. Narasimha, revered in South India, embodies Vishnu’s protection of his devotee Prahlad from the demon
Hiranyakashipu.
